신약에 언급 된 이유는

신약은 약 CE 50 - 100 년 사이에 쓰여졌고 그 이후 4세기에도 수정 추가 되었다.

 

성경은 여러사람이 수백년을 거쳐서 작성됬고 소설을 쓰듯 한사람이 쓴게 아니다.

Nazareth – The Town that Theology Built

 

복음서는 이 '나사렛이라는 도시' 에 대해 우리에게 많은 것을 말해주지 않는다.

The gospels do not tell us much about this 'city-Nazareth’,

 

그러나 우리가 이 신의 고향에 대한 역사적 확인을 찾을 때

– 놀라움, 놀라움! – 다른 어떤 출처도 그 장소가 서기 1세기에 존재했다는 것을 확인할수가 없다.

However when we look for historical confirmation of this hometown of a god

– surprise, surprise! – no other source confirms that the place even existed in the 1st century AD.

 

구약 전체에 나사렛이라는 이름은 단 한 번도 언급되지 않았다.

- Nazareth is not mentioned even once in the entire Old Testament.

 

여호수아서 (19.10,16) – 스불론 지파가 그 지역에 정착하는 과정을 주장하는 내용 – 12개의 성읍과 6개의 마을을 기록하고 있지만 그 목록에서 '나사렛'은 전혀 빠져있었다

The Book of Joshua (19.10,16) – in what it claims is the process of settlement by the tribe of Zebulon in the area – records twelve towns and six villages and yet omits any 'Nazareth' from its list.

In his histories, Josephus has a lot to say about Galilee (an area of barely 900 square miles). During the first Jewish war, in the 60s AD, Josephus led a military campaign back and forth across the tiny province. Josephus mentions 45 cities and villages of Galilee – yet Nazareth not at all.

Josephus does, however, have something to say about Japha (Yafa, Japhia), a village just one mile to the southwest of Nazareth where he himself lived for a time (Life 52).

a glance at a topographical map of the region shows that Nazareth is located at one end of a valley, bounded on three sides by hills. Natural access to this valley is from the southwest.

Now where on earth did the 1st century inhabitants of Japha bury their dead? In the tombs further up the valley!

 

야파가 완전히 멸망됨에 따라 나사렛 유적지에서의 무덤 사용은 끝났을 것이었다.

오늘날 이름이 알려지지 않은 공동묘지는 현대 도시 나사렛 아래에 있다.

With Japha's complete destruction, tomb use at the Nazareth site would have ended.

The unnamed necropolis today lies under the modern city of Nazareth.

At a later time – as pottery and other finds indicate(see below) – the Nazareth site was re-occupied.

Martin Luther's 1534 Bible was the first to separate the Apocrypha as an intertestamental section with a note explaining they are not divinely inspired. The Geneva Bible followed this example in 1599.

The 1611 King James Bible also printed the Apocrypha, but it was removed in 1885.
