충격, 강력한 영향, Impact, shock 차이점

impact and shock difference;

While often used interchangeably,

"impact" refers to the moment of collision between two objects, while

"shock" describes the sudden force or stress experienced by an object due to that impact, essentially focusing more on the rapid change in force over a short period of time rather than the collision itself; essentially, an impact is a type of shock that happens very quickly.

Key points to remember:

Impact:

A direct collision between two objects, often characterized by a high force applied over a short duration.

Shock:

The sudden change in force or stress experienced by an object due to an impact, focusing more on the rapid change in energy than the collision itself.

Example: When a hammer strikes a nail, the moment of contact is the "impact," while the sudden force transmitted through the nail due to that strike is the "shock.".
